Aloft by Marriott Delray Beach | Jennifer & Will
Wedding photo gallery is available at the bottom of the article.
Jennifer and Will’s wedding at Aloft Delray Beach combined an outdoor ceremony, rich emerald-green details and a relaxed evening surrounded by family and friends. They held the entire celebration at the hotel, moving from preparations and the terrace ceremony to nighttime portraits and an indoor reception.
I photographed and filmed the wedding, preserving everything from the quieter moments before the ceremony to the vows, speeches and celebrations that followed.
Watch Jennifer & Will’s Wedding Film
Having one team for photography and videography allowed Jennifer and Will’s story to be documented consistently. Their photographs preserve individual expressions and details, while the film brings back their voices, movement and atmosphere from throughout the day.
Jennifer’s Bridal Portraits
Jennifer’s morning included time for relaxed bridal portraits inside the hotel. Her off-the-shoulder gown featured floral lace, delicate sleeves and a softly layered skirt. A long veil, jeweled hairpiece and silver jewelry completed her look.
Her bouquet brought together white and peach flowers, deep green accents and loose greenery. The darker tones connected beautifully with the emerald color palette used throughout the rest of the wedding.
The neutral curtains and modern furniture inside the room created a simple background that kept all the attention on Jennifer. We captured a mixture of full-length portraits, close-ups and natural photographs of her smiling and taking in the moment before the ceremony.
This blend of guided portraits and genuine reactions is part of my approach to documentary-minded wedding photography.
Will and His Wedding Party
Will wore a deep emerald-green suit with a patterned tie, white boutonniere and brown shoes. His outfit introduced the wedding’s main color while still feeling polished and timeless.
Before the guests arrived, Will spent time outside with members of his wedding party. Their cream-colored suits and green accessories coordinated with his look without matching it exactly.
Alongside the traditional portraits, there were plenty of relaxed interactions as they helped one another with ties and boutonnieres. These small moments often show the personalities and relationships within a wedding party more clearly than a formal lineup can.
An Outdoor Ceremony at Aloft Delray Beach
Jennifer and Will held their ceremony outside on the hotel terrace. White chairs faced a circular gold arch decorated with ivory fabric, white flowers and greenery. A hedge behind the arch added more color while keeping the ceremony setting clean and uncluttered.
Live string musicians played as guests gathered and Jennifer made her entrance. She walked down the aisle accompanied by a family member before joining Will beneath the floral arch.
As daylight faded, the ceremony took on a warmer evening atmosphere. Jennifer and Will exchanged vows and rings in front of their families and friends before sealing the ceremony with a kiss. Their smiles as they walked back along the aisle together made some of my favorite photographs from the day.
The vows, music and reactions surrounding moments like these are especially meaningful in films that preserve the spoken and moving parts of a wedding.
Evening Wedding Portraits
After the ceremony, Jennifer and Will stayed outside for portraits on the terrace. By then, the sky had darkened and the hedge was illuminated, giving us a strong green background that complemented Will’s suit and the colors in Jennifer’s bouquet.
We created a combination of close portraits, walking photographs and playful moments between the newlyweds. Jennifer and Will appeared relaxed together, which made it easy to move beyond formal poses and capture their natural expressions.
We also used this time for family and wedding-party photographs. The guests’ emerald, champagne, navy and black outfits brought variety to the group portraits while remaining connected to the overall wedding palette.
An Emerald, White and Gold Reception
The reception continued the color story with emerald napkins, white linens and gold accents. White and deep-green floral arrangements decorated the tables, while greenery ran across Jennifer and Will’s sweetheart table.
Behind them, a circular gold frame was dressed with soft ivory fabric and flowers. The design echoed the ceremony arch while giving the indoor reception its own distinct setting.
A simple white tiered cake was displayed nearby with greenery and gold candle holders. The understated design fitted naturally with the rest of the reception décor.
Jennifer and Will also created a memorial display using framed family photographs and a sign honoring loved ones who were no longer able to celebrate with them in person. It was a thoughtful and personal addition to the room.

Entrances, Speeches and the Cake Cutting
The reception began with lively entrances from the wedding party before Jennifer and Will entered together. Their arrival immediately brought guests to their feet and shifted the evening from dinner into celebration.
Speeches followed at the sweetheart table, giving family and friends an opportunity to share stories and raise a glass to the newlyweds. Jennifer and Will also addressed their guests before cutting their wedding cake together.
These moments gave the reception a comfortable balance of emotion and humor. They also allowed us to capture the couple’s reactions alongside the expressions of the people listening around the room.
Planning an Aloft Delray Beach Wedding?
Aloft Delray Beach allowed Jennifer and Will to prepare, hold their outdoor ceremony and host their reception in one location. The hotel’s modern interiors and open-air terrace also gave us several different environments for their photographs without requiring additional travel.
