Krista and Derrick’s wedding at Breeza Biscayne was elegant without ever feeling reserved. Green-and-gold preparations led into an all-white ceremony, portraits beside Biscayne Bay and a reception that ended with a packed dance floor.
I photographed and filmed their celebration for QMWeddings. The photographs hold onto the details and expressions; the film brings back the music, voices and movement that made the day unmistakably theirs.
Watch Krista and Derrick’s Wedding Film
From the ballet performance before the ceremony to Krista and Derrick dancing back down the aisle, this was a wedding with plenty to see—and plenty worth hearing again. Their film follows those moments through the waterfront portraits, speeches and evening celebration.
A Green-and-Gold Start to the Day
Krista began the morning in a bright room overlooking the water, surrounded by emerald green, white and gold balloons. The people getting ready with her wore matching green pajamas, bringing the wedding’s color palette into the first photographs of the day.
Before she put on her gown, I photographed her rings, jewelry, shoes, perfume and personal details. Her ceremony look included an off-the-shoulder gown, a long veil, statement earrings and a sparkling hairpiece tucked into soft waves.
Derrick got ready separately in a light-filled room with waterfront views. His white dinner jacket had black lapels, which he paired with a black bow tie and trousers. A young attendant wore a coordinating white jacket—a small connection between their looks that photographed beautifully.
These early hours gave us space for the finishing touches and individual portraits before the pace of the day picked up.
An All-White Ceremony with an Unforgettable Entrance
White draping transformed the ceremony room at Breeza Biscayne. Clear chairs lined a reflective aisle, delicate white flowers bordered the walkway, and overlapping gold circles covered in florals framed the place where Krista and Derrick would exchange their vows.
A ballet performance opened the processional. The dancer’s movement along the mirrored aisle made the entrance feel like a moment in its own right, while the reflections added another layer to the photographs and film.
The wedding party followed in emerald green and black. Then Krista entered in her gown and veil, with Derrick waiting beneath the floral installation. Their ceremony brought together personal words, rings and the reactions of the people closest to them.
Afterward, they danced their way back down the aisle as their guests cheered. It was a joyful shift from the emotion of the vows to the celebration ahead.
Portraits Beside Biscayne Bay
We started with family and wedding-party photographs near the ceremony backdrop, then stepped outside with Krista and Derrick for portraits by the water. Boats and the causeway appeared beyond Biscayne Bay, giving their gallery a distinctly Miami setting without requiring a separate trip across the city.
We made a mix of close portraits and wider photographs that included the waterfront. Krista’s veil brought movement to some of the frames, while a few playful group photographs kept the session relaxed. My favorite moments came when the two of them were simply interacting, rather than holding a pose.

A White-and-Gold Reception at Breeza Biscayne
The reception carried the ceremony’s white palette into a room warmed by gold details. Clear chairs surrounded long and round tables, tall arrangements of delicate white flowers rose above the place settings, and white draping softened the walls. Chandeliers and the darker ceiling gave the bright design contrast.
Krista and Derrick had a personalized white dance floor with gold lettering at the center of the room. For the reception, Krista changed into a fitted white gown with a textured pattern, while Derrick kept his white dinner jacket.
Their entrance set the tone immediately: the wedding party and guests brought energy onto the dance floor before the evening’s formal moments had even begun.
First Dance, Speeches and a Full Dance Floor
Krista and Derrick’s first dance moved between close, quiet moments and laughter. Photographing from different angles let me capture their expressions as well as the room around them, while the film preserved the music and motion of the dance.
Speeches and cake cutting followed, along with playful moments that kept the guests involved. Later, colored uplighting moved across the white draping, custom party glasses appeared in the crowd and the dance floor filled.
By then, the photographs had become faster and more spontaneous. That change in energy is part of the story: the same day that began with careful details and a graceful ballet entrance ended with everyone celebrating together.
A Miami Wedding That Felt Entirely Their Own
Krista and Derrick made Breeza Biscayne their own through contrast: emerald green preparations and an all-white ceremony, formal floral design and a dancing recessional, composed waterfront portraits and a lively reception.
I was glad to document both sides of it. Photography gave them a way to return to the expressions and details; video preserved the performances, voices and atmosphere around those moments.
