Some venues make a wedding day easy to photograph: everything is close, the light is kind, and the rooms themselves do half the work. Ashley & Ramon's wedding at Crystal Ballroom BeachPlace in Fort Lauderdale was exactly that kind of day — a waterfront ballroom and terrace, a white floral ceremony, and a reception that went from elegant to full party without ever losing its warmth. We photographed and filmed it as one coordinated photo and video team, so the couple could enjoy the day while we captured it naturally.
Getting ready
The morning split in two directions. Ramon got ready on the terrace with his groomsmen — a man helping him into his black suit jacket, palms and waterfront buildings behind them, then a solo portrait in his black suit, green tie, and boutonniere, and a line of nine groomsmen in matching black suits and green ties. Ashley's morning was quieter: lipstick in the mirror in her off-shoulder gown, then a full-length portrait against a white lattice backdrop, cascading white bouquet in hand.
The ceremony
Before anyone arrived, the ceremony space was already beautiful on its own — an empty white floral altar, chandeliers overhead, no people yet. Then the processional: Ramon escorting a woman in a blue dress down the aisle, a flower girl in white scattering petals with her basket, and the ceremony itself at the altar, wide enough to take in the couple, the officiant, and the wedding party together. The ring exchange followed, and the recessional — arms raised, bridesmaids applauding — is one of the happiest frames of the day.
Portraits and family
After the ceremony came the portraits: Ashley with eight bridesmaids in sage green, laughing with their bouquets, and a black-and-white full-length portrait of Ashley alone on the terrace, sea and palms behind her. The couple portraits lean into the florals — forehead to forehead before a floral wall, laughing, kissing with their rings showing, embracing on the altar steps. Family portraits under a floral chandelier round out the set.
The reception
The reception details were worth photographing before the room filled: sweetheart chairs with white florals and a chandelier, and a table setting with a silver napkin, favor jar, and champagne glass. Then the entrance — Ashley holding her bouquet up, Ramon's hand raised, guests applauding — and the couple at their sweetheart table in white throne chairs with blue and white florals.
First dance and cake cutting
The first dance happened on a foggy dance floor under a white floral ceiling — including a black-and-white frame of the couple dancing in the fog, and Ramon dipping and kissing Ashley with the throne chairs behind them. Later, the couple cut a multi-tier white cake together, Ramon by then in a white shirt with suspenders.
The party
The night ended the way it should: dancing, glow sticks, and a packed floor, closing on a night party group shot with drinks and glow sticks in hand.
The wedding film
Photographs freeze a moment; film brings the whole day back. Ashley & Ramon's wedding was filmed alongside the photography by the same coordinated team, so the vows, the first dance, and the party atmosphere at Crystal Ballroom BeachPlace are preserved in motion as well as in stills.
