Some weddings are defined by their details before the ceremony even starts. Jaclyn & Shawn's day began with the small things laid out carefully — gold and silver strappy shoes, ring boxes, earrings, a necklace and bracelets on a green surface, "Bride" slippers, "Bride to Be" glasses, BRIDE balloons, and the hanging dress — and it stayed just as considered all the way through to the final group photo. We photographed and filmed it as one coordinated photo and video team, so the couple could stay in the day while we captured it naturally.
Getting ready
The morning was full of colour and laughter: bridesmaids in pink robes, Jaclyn in a white satin robe, hair and makeup in progress, and individual portraits along the way — including Jaclyn smiling at the camera in her white robe, and Shawn outdoors in a navy tuxedo with black lapels, white shirt and bow tie, and a white boutonniere, leaning against a black post with palm trees and a brick path behind him.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in a church, with stained glass behind the pews and guests watching from their seats. Bridesmaids in bright pink dresses carrying white bouquets walked the aisle, and Jaclyn and Shawn exchanged their vows at the altar with the priest, before recessing back down the aisle together — Jaclyn in a white lace gown with a white bouquet, Shawn in his navy tuxedo, a large golden crucifix behind them.
Portraits
After the ceremony, the formal portraits moved outdoors: Jaclyn with three bridesmaids in bright pink dresses, all holding white bouquets, palm trees behind them — and the couple portrait that anchors the set, Jaclyn in her white lace gown with a long veil and white bouquet, kissing Shawn in his navy tuxedo on a brick path, with a garden, bench, and fountain area behind them.
The reception and party
The celebration at Lavan Venue in Fort Lauderdale closed the day: reception tables with white drapes and floral centrepieces, guests together, dancing and party photos, and a final large group photo with Jaclyn and Shawn seated in the centre and a floral arch behind them.
The wedding film
Photographs freeze a moment; film brings the whole day back. Jaclyn & Shawn's wedding was filmed alongside the photography by the same coordinated team, so the ceremony, the portraits, and the reception atmosphere are preserved in motion as well as in stills.
