Jenna and Tadao’s wedding at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa combined ocean views, blue-and-white floral design and traditions that reflected them as a couple. They held their ceremony on the resort’s oceanfront lawn before moving indoors for dinner, live music and a packed ballroom dance floor.
I photographed and filmed the celebration, preserving everything from their separate morning preparations to the laughter, speeches and dancing later that evening.
Watch Jenna & Tadao’s Wedding Film
Photography captures individual expressions and carefully chosen details, while film brings back the vows, voices and movement around them. Covering both allowed us to tell Jenna and Tadao’s story without asking them to repeat important moments for separate teams.
Couples interested in similar coverage can explore our combined photography and filmmaking options.
Getting Ready at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort
Jenna and Tadao prepared separately at the resort with their closest friends and family nearby.
Jenna’s morning began with her wedding details, including her shoes, jewelry, perfume, invitation suite and white floral bouquet. Her gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, flowing skirt and long veil. After getting dressed, she shared a few quiet moments with the people helping her prepare before joining her wedding party for photographs.
The wedding party wore matching blue satin robes during the morning, creating a relaxed group of getting-ready photographs before changing into different shades of blue and teal for the ceremony.
Tadao prepared in a tailored gray suit, white shirt and blue tie. Friends helped with the final details before the group stepped outside for portraits overlooking the resort grounds.
The morning offered a mix of composed detail photographs and candid interactions. Nobody needed to perform for the camera—the people, conversations and anticipation already gave us everything required to begin the story naturally.
An Oceanfront Ceremony in Fort Lauderdale
The ceremony took place on a manicured lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. White chairs faced a raised deck decorated with abundant blue-and-white flowers, while the open water created a clean background behind Jenna and Tadao.
The floral arrangements included different shades of blue, white blooms and greenery. Smaller aisle arrangements connected the seating area with the ceremony design without blocking the ocean view.
Guests gathered outside before the wedding party began walking down the aisle. The attendants coordinated in gray suits and blue or teal dresses, carrying white bouquets that matched Jenna’s flowers.
Jenna entered with a loved one beside her. When she reached the front, the couple shared an emotional greeting before turning toward the ceremony together.
Personal Vows Beside the Ocean
Jenna and Tadao stood facing one another as they exchanged vows and rings. Their wedding party remained close on both sides, while the guests had uninterrupted views of the couple and the ocean beyond them.
There were emotional reactions, laughter and plenty of small exchanges between them throughout the ceremony. Those unscripted moments added just as much to the story as the formal parts of the service.
After being pronounced married, Jenna and Tadao celebrated as they walked back down the aisle together. Their wedding party followed, and the atmosphere shifted immediately from ceremony emotion to excitement.
Capturing those quick changes in expression is an important part of my candid and comfortably directed photography style.
Wedding-Party and Family Photographs
With the ceremony complete, we used the oceanfront lawn for wedding-party and family photographs. Keeping everyone close to the ceremony area allowed us to work efficiently while guests moved toward cocktail hour.
The blues and grays worn by the wedding party coordinated beautifully with the floral arrangements and ocean. We created the important formal groupings first, followed by more relaxed photographs that showed everyone’s personalities.
The resort and waterfront provided several different backgrounds without needing to move the group far. We photographed the couple with the full wedding party, smaller groups and the family members who had shared the day with them.
This kind of well-organized portrait time helps couples receive a complete gallery without spending most of cocktail hour standing in one place.
Beachside Portraits for Jenna and Tadao
Once the group photographs were finished, Jenna and Tadao had time for portraits together. We walked along the wooden beach access path, where the elevated boardwalk gave us open views of the sand and water.
Jenna’s long veil added movement to the photographs as the breeze came in from the ocean. Against the soft blue sky and neutral beach tones, the veil and white bouquet remained the focus without losing the sense of place.
The couple were affectionate and playful throughout the session. I gave them light direction when it helped, then allowed space for real interactions to happen between poses.
We also created portraits around the resort’s palm-lined grounds, giving the gallery a balance of beach views, tropical greenery and clean architectural backgrounds.

A Blue-and-White Ballroom Reception
The reception continued inside one of the resort’s ballrooms. White linens, silver chairs and tall blue-and-white floral centerpieces carried the ceremony palette into the indoor celebration.
Jenna and Tadao’s sweetheart table was surrounded by flowers and personalized with their married name. Smaller details throughout the reception incorporated blue wave patterns, illustrated place cards and other touches connected to the couple.
Guests found their tables before gathering around the dance floor for the wedding party’s entrances. Each group brought its own personality into the room, setting an upbeat tone before Jenna and Tadao made their entrance.
The ballroom provided a completely different atmosphere from the outdoor ceremony while allowing the coastal colors and personal details to continue through the evening.

First Dance and Live Music
Jenna and Tadao began the reception with their first dance on the wooden ballroom floor. A live string ensemble accompanied part of the celebration, adding a personal musical element while guests watched from the surrounding tables.
The couple remained focused on each other, creating plenty of natural expressions as they moved around the floor. Parent dances followed, bringing another round of emotional moments and reactions from family members.
Speeches continued the celebration with laughter, hugs and a few tears. I photographed both the speakers and the responses around the room, while the film preserved the words and voices behind those reactions.

A Lively Hora and Packed Dance Floor
One of the biggest bursts of energy came during the hora. Guests formed a circle around Jenna and Tadao before lifting them above the dance floor in chairs.
The expressions ranged from excitement to a little understandable nervousness, giving us some of the most animated photographs and video clips of the night. Friends and family filled the floor around them, making the tradition feel joyful and communal.
From there, the party stayed busy. Guests danced together under the ballroom lighting while Jenna and Tadao remained at the center of the celebration.
The combination of photography and film worked especially well during this part of the evening. Still images preserved individual reactions, while the wedding film captured the music, motion and scale of the dance floor.
Planning a Marriott Harbor Beach Resort Wedding?
Jenna and Tadao’s wedding showed how smoothly a celebration at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort can move from an oceanfront ceremony and coastal portraits into a comfortable indoor reception.
Keeping the ceremony, portrait locations and ballroom within the same resort gave the couple more time with their guests. It also allowed us to create a varied gallery without adding travel between different locations.
