Joana & Cory’s B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale Wedding
Wedding photo gallery is available at the bottom of the article.
Joana and Cory’s wedding at B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale brought together everything that makes a beach celebration feel exciting: bright ocean views, personal vows on the sand, a bold blue palette and a reception filled with humor and personality.
They kept the whole celebration at the resort, beginning with preparations in rooms overlooking the water. Later, everyone gathered on Fort Lauderdale Beach for the ceremony before moving indoors for dinner, speeches, cake and dancing. I photographed and filmed the day, from the quiet details in the morning through the energy of the reception.

The photographs preserve individual expressions and details, while the film brings back the voices, movement and sound of the ocean. Together, they tell a fuller story of the day.
A Beach Wedding at B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale
B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale sits directly beside Fort Lauderdale Beach, making it possible to prepare, hold a ceremony on the sand and continue the celebration indoors without moving between separate venues.
Joana and Cory made that flow part of their day. The ocean was present in the view from the rooms, became the setting for their vows and portraits, and then gave way to a comfortable indoor reception once the sun began to drop. Couples comparing ceremony spaces, reception options and planning considerations can find more detail in my B Ocean Resort wedding venue guide.
Getting Ready with Ocean Views
Joana spent the morning with her closest friends in one of the resort rooms. Their blue satin robes immediately introduced the color story, and heart-shaped sunglasses kept the atmosphere playful while everyone toasted and helped with the final preparations.
Before Joana stepped into her dress, I photographed her silver shoes, rings, wooden ring box and small vow books. Her off-the-shoulder gown combined a detailed lace bodice with a soft, full skirt and long veil. Once she was dressed, the bright windows gave us clean, natural portraits before the group headed downstairs.
Cory prepared in a separate room overlooking the beach. His royal-blue windowpane suit, red tie and brown shoes were a confident choice against the pale sand and turquoise water. Friends and family helped with the tie, jacket and final adjustments, leaving time for portraits while the ceremony setup was being completed below.
A Blue-and-White Ceremony on Fort Lauderdale Beach
The ceremony took place directly on the sand beneath a gold circular arch decorated with white and blue flowers. Smaller arrangements lined the white chairs, carrying the palette down the aisle without competing with the ocean beyond it.
Joana entered with a loved one as Cory waited at the front. Their ceremony included personal words, an exchange of rings and plenty of visible emotion from the couple and their guests. The beach was active and breezy, but that movement became part of the photographs—the water behind them, Joana’s skirt and veil shifting in the wind, and everyone responding naturally as the ceremony unfolded.
After their first kiss, Joana and Cory walked back through their guests with their hands raised in celebration. A dip at the end of the aisle made a joyful final photograph before everyone gathered for family and wedding-party portraits.
Wedding Portraits by the Atlantic
Joana and Cory stayed on the beach after the ceremony for portraits beneath the floral arch and closer to the shoreline. The ocean gave us strong color and movement, while their styling kept the images polished: Joana’s soft white gown and bouquet against Cory’s structured blue suit.
We photographed a mix of guided portraits and quieter moments—walking together, laughing between frames, a few veil photographs and close details of their wedding rings. The wind lifted the veil naturally, creating some of the most expressive images in the gallery without asking the couple to hold a complicated pose.
Their family photographs also included framed portraits of loved ones. It was a thoughtful way to make those people visible in the record of the day without needing to explain more than the images themselves show.
Portraits Inside B Ocean Resort
Before the reception, we used the resort’s interior staircase for another set of portraits. The warm hanging lights and wood steps offered a completely different look from the bright beach, giving Joana and Cory variety without taking them away from their guests for long.
This is one of the practical advantages of keeping everything at one property: we could move from oceanfront photographs to a modern indoor setting within minutes, then send the couple straight into their reception entrance.
A Playful, Personal Reception
The reception decor continued the white-and-blue palette with soft florals, candlelight, blue table accents and a circular floral installation behind the sweetheart table. Illuminated “Mr & Mrs” letters added a warm focal point, while the seating display and small details introduced a playful Harry Potter-inspired theme.
Joana and Cory leaned into that fun from the moment they entered wearing heart-shaped sunglasses. After speeches and dinner, they cut a colorful themed cake and fed each other a bite before opening the dance floor.
Their first dance began the evening, but the reception quickly became less formal. The bouquet toss brought everyone together, guests filled the floor, and the sunglasses reappeared as Joana and Cory danced with friends and family. It was the kind of reception where the carefully planned details still mattered, but no one was afraid to let the party become loud, funny and spontaneous.
B Ocean Resort Wedding Photography & Videography
Joana and Cory’s gallery moves through several distinct environments: bright hotel rooms, direct sun on the beach, softer shoreline portraits, a modern hotel interior and a darker reception room. Photographing and filming the entire wedding meant keeping the colors and story consistent while adapting quickly to each change in light.
