Lydia and JP’s wedding at The Boca Raton was intimate, colorful and completely full of personality. They exchanged vows on a tiled terrace with their families gathered close, took portraits around the resort and finished the celebration with a candlelit dinner in one of the property’s richly patterned private rooms.
The visual details were bold without feeling overdone. Lydia wore a fitted floral wedding dress and veil, JP chose a light blue suit with a pale pink tie, and their flowers brought together soft pinks, yellow, orange and delicate textural details. It all felt joyful, stylish and unmistakably theirs.

A Private First Look on the Terrace
Lydia and JP began their time together with a first look on a terrace overlooking The Boca Raton’s grounds. JP waited facing away while Lydia walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. His reaction moved quickly from surprise to a huge smile, followed by the kind of long hug that lets both people breathe before everything else begins.
Giving them this time alone was a lovely way to start the story of the day. We could photograph the genuine reaction first, then ease into a few relaxed portraits without rushing them straight into the ceremony.
The terrace also introduced the wedding’s visual style beautifully. Its green-and-white patterned floor, dark latticework and open views worked naturally with Lydia’s floral dress and JP’s blue suit. The result felt colorful and editorial while still keeping the focus firmly on the two of them.
Wedding Portraits Around The Boca Raton
After the first look, we used several areas around the resort for portraits. The staircase gave us strong architectural lines, while the lawn, palms and water softened the setting and added a distinctly South Florida feel.
Lydia’s dress changed the energy of every location. Against the greenery, the floral print stood out immediately; inside the restaurant, it connected with the patterned walls and black-and-white floor in a completely different way. JP’s light blue suit kept the overall palette relaxed and worked especially well outdoors.
We kept the portrait time moving so they could enjoy the celebration rather than disappear into a long photo session. There was enough direction to create polished images, but also room for them to walk, laugh, talk and settle into each other naturally.
Later in the evening, we stepped outside again for portraits beneath the large trees wrapped in warm hanging lights. Those nighttime photographs gave the gallery a quieter, more atmospheric finish and showed another side of the resort without asking Lydia and JP to leave their guests for long.
An Intimate Ceremony Surrounded by Family
The ceremony took place on a covered terrace, with family and friends standing close around Lydia and JP. Instead of creating distance between the couple and their guests, the layout made everyone feel part of the moment. Children gathered near the front, parents and grandparents stood only a few steps away, and the reactions were visible from every direction.
A violinist played as guests arrived, adding music to the warm late-afternoon atmosphere. Once the ceremony began, the focus stayed on Lydia and JP’s vows, their ring exchange and the people surrounding them. There were plenty of smiles, a few tears and a wonderfully celebratory kiss at the end.
From a photography and videography perspective, this kind of close ceremony is especially meaningful. The photographs preserve the expressions, while the film brings back the voices, pauses, laughter and movement that still images cannot hold on their own.
A Candlelit Dinner Full of Color
The reception continued with an intimate seated dinner in a private room filled with pattern, texture and warm light. Long tables were dressed in olive-green linen with blush glassware, tall candles and loose floral arrangements that echoed Lydia’s bouquet. Rattan chairs and the room’s pink-and-green walls added even more character.
The details felt considered, but the dinner never looked too formal to enjoy. Guests sat close enough for conversations to travel across the tables, and the evening unfolded through speeches, laughter, hugs and reactions from all sides of the room.
The small green-and-white cake fitted the setting perfectly, with a leafy design that stood out against its pink table and the patterned wall behind it. Lydia and JP cut the cake together, shared a bite and kept the moment playful—exactly the kind of short, unscripted exchange that makes a real wedding gallery feel alive.
This reception is a good reminder that a wedding does not need a huge ballroom or an enormous guest list to feel special. Lydia and JP used color, a distinctive room and the people closest to them to create an evening that felt warm, personal and full of energy.
Lydia & JP’s Wedding Film
The photographs show the color and design of the celebration, but the film brings another layer back: the sound of the vows, the violin, the laughter during dinner and the emotion in the speeches.
Having one coordinated team for both photography and videography meant we could plan the coverage together, share the limited portrait time and document the same moments without making Lydia and JP repeat anything for two separate teams.
